Welcome to Trust, the Book
Trust is the fundamental ingredient for a successful relationship. This can be a personal relationship, a business relationship, or even a relationship with God. When Alexander Zwagerman moved from the high trust environment of the Netherlands to China, where interpersonal trust and societal trust is significantly lower, he began to wonder how people dealt with the differences.

This collection of interviews, interspersed with anecdotes and essays, is the result of a lifelong fascination. Writers, academics and professionals have spoken with Zwagerman, most of them especially for this collection, others earlier in Zwagerman’s long writing career. He lets the interviewees, from Wikipedia’s Jimmy Wales to Ogilvy’s Rory Sutherland and former Special Forces Operative James Stesjkal to change expert Olivier Sibony, do the talking.
Always critical, but never judgmental, Alexander Zwagerman is clearly present in these conversations, but never dominant. He asks both the interviewees and the readers “Do you trust me?”
Alexander Zwagerman (1973) is a lecturer and researcher at HAN University of Applied Sciences in Arnhem, the Netherlands, and a former lecturer at the University of Technology in Changchun, China. Trust, Interviews about a Hidden Force is his sixth book and the second to appear in English.
